Questions you may have before sharing the HTML
Can I email the downloaded HTML or put it on a website?
Yes. It is one standalone file, so a recipient can open it in a modern browser without Excel or a server. You can also host it like a normal web page. Review sensitive data before sharing.
My workbook has several worksheets. Which one will be included?
Only the worksheet selected in the preview is exported. This keeps unrelated tables and differently shaped sheets from being mixed together. Create another HTML file for each additional worksheet you want to share.
Will formulas, charts, colors, and merged cells look exactly like Excel?
No. The HTML keeps displayed cell values and the row-and-column structure. Formulas use their last saved results; charts, macros, images, merged-cell styling, and workbook formatting are not reproduced.
My headers, dates, or totals are messy. Should I convert the file anyway?
Clean it first. The HTML will make the current values easier to browse, but it will not correct inconsistent columns or questionable totals. RowSpeak can clean the spreadsheet, find anomalies, and help you verify the analysis before you publish it.
Is the gzip data inside the HTML encrypted or hidden?
No. Gzip reduces file size; it is not encryption. Anyone who receives the HTML can view and extract its table data, so remove confidential columns before publishing or sending the file.
What can I do if the table is large or feels slow?
Remove unused columns, split very large datasets into focused tables, and start with fewer rows per page. The converter accepts up to 50,000 rows and 250 columns, but the recipient’s browser still has to search and sort that data locally.
