Personal Monthly Budget & Expense Tracker with Net Savings Template

The template is organized into three interconnected sheets. Transacciones captures every movement of money with columns for Date, automatically generated Month (YYYY‑MM), Category, Account, Type (Income/Expense), Amount, Merchant/Beneficiary, Payment Method and Notes. All list‑based fields use dropdowns, the Date field is mandatory, and the Amount must be positive. The Plan de Presupuesto sheet lists each spending Category in rows and shows the Monthly Budget, Real Spending (automatically summed from the Transacciones sheet for the selected month and category), the Variance (Budget – Real) and a conditional indicator that turns red when spending exceeds the budget. Finally, the Tablero aggregates the data into key metrics – Total Income, Total Expenses, Net Savings – and visualises Expenses by Category (pie chart), Weekly Spending Trend (line chart) and the Top 10 Merchants by spend (bar chart). Sample data for fifteen transactions is pre‑filled, and the dropdown lists can be expanded easily to accommodate new categories, accounts or payment methods.

By centralising every transaction and linking it directly to a budget plan, users instantly see where they are overspending and where they have room to save. How to use
- Open the Transacciones sheet and enter each new transaction; the Month column fills automatically, and dropdowns ensure consistent categorisation.
- Switch to the Plan de Presupuesto sheet, add or edit your monthly budget amounts for each Category; the Real Spending column updates in real time.
- Review the Tablero sheet to see total income, total expenses, net savings and the visual charts; adjust budgets as needed based on the Variance and Indicator.
- To add new categories or accounts, simply extend the source list on the hidden Settings range and the dropdowns will include the new options.
